Is it worth continuing working with models, doing research on Models, coming to the MODELS conference? On the one side MDE/MDA is no longer an over-hyped buzzword, on the other side more and more people are working with models, DSLs, MDE (albeit not always under these very names, e.g. model-based science). Is the fact that MDE is slowly fading into the background a proof of success? Or is it just another instance of the well documented "technology hype curve"? Is there still enough excitement to be worth continuing to meet under the umbrella of MODELS?
Organizer: Vasco Amaral (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal and vice-chair of the MPM4CPS EU COST action)

In virtually any area of human activity, truly complex, designed systems, known as Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), are emerging. These multi-disciplinary systems deeply integrate collaborating physical, software, and network parts. This panel will bring together experts from industry and academy on both Model Driven Engineering and CPS areas, in order to discuss the R&D priorities and challenges from CPS that we foresee solvable with multi-paradigm modeling.
